Motion with Still Photography
This latest assignment was to experiment with motion using still photography. I waited a little long to start this one and I wish I hadn't because I really, really like the results and I now wonder what I could have gotten had I started sooner. I was really nervous about the techniques themselves and how to obtain the results Steve (my instructor) was looking for, or at least what I thought he might be looking for.
Required Concept: Something moving must be blurred. Mine is an ambulance on John Nolen Dr., Madison, WI.

Required Concept: While the shutter is open, zoom the lens in and out. This is a stencil spray paint pattern on the side of the building in downtown Madison, WI.
Zooming In:

Zooming Out:

Required Concept: Pan the camera with a moving object so the background is blurred and the moving object is in focus. This was the one I feared the most, it's pretty hard to time them perfect. I took many shots and ended up with 2-3 that were ok, but I would say I need more practice.

These will be critiqued on Thursday and I can't wait to see the other student's photos!
